Awarded to Niguechinnien of the Indian Sappers & Miners. Abyssinian War Medal ( NAIGUECHINNIEN, SAPPERS & MINERS). The Indian Sappers & Miners was part of a collective force of British and Indian Forces involved in operations in Abyssinia. This was brought about by King Theodore of Abyssinia who imprisoned several missionaries and two representatives of the British government in 1868.
