Egypt Medal 'undated' Clasp Suakin 1885. (5491 Pte. F. Russell. 7th Co. C & T Dept.) & Khedive Star, 1884-6. Awarded to Private Frank James Russell, joined the army in Aldershot on the 9th July 1884. Recruited in Hoxton, London, county of Middlesex. Served with No 7 Company, Commissariat & Transport Corps.Embarked for Egypt campaign in February 1885 and was present at Suakin, later returning same year. Service papers promoted to lance corporal 16th September 1886.He was awarded the Egypt Medal with clasp Suakin 1885 plus receiving the Khedive 1884-6 medal for serving in the military campaign in Egypt.Further promotions followed year after promoted to the rank of Corporal 2nd Class, 1st April 1887. At this time he was serving as a Reserve in the Army Service Corps.On his attestation papers it shows he was later discharged from the Army 22nd July 1900.Medals confirmed in service papers.
