Awarded to Chief Carpenters Mate Frank Drummond of Her Majesties Royal Navy. Royal Naval Long Service & Good conduct (VR). (F. DRUMMOND, CHF. CAR’s. MTE. H.M.S. SULTAN.).)   Born 3^rd December 1844 in Bromley, Middlesex. He joined the Royal Navy on the 31^st January 1867 serving until the 18^th September 1877. On his award of his Long Service & Good Conduct medal he was serving at the time onboard HMS Sultan (named on medal) a broadside ironclad of the Royal Navy of the Victorian era, who carried her main armament in a central box battery.  (with copy medal and overview).
