An early Hussars Cap Badge depicting the number seven in the centre of badge in big Roman numerals (VIII). Surrounded in a garter belt the words ‘PRINCESS LOUISE’s HUSSARS’. Beneath the garter band a scroll reads ‘REGI PATRIAEQUE FIDELIS’. Crowned at top of badge a coronet. On reverse two loops present.
