DRK (German Red Cross) service brooch.

Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, DRK (German Red Cross) service brooch. Service brooch issued to female members of the DRK military nursing service whilst on active service. This is an extremely nice die struck alloy example of a brooch 30mm in diameter with a silver wash and black, white and red enamel painted finish. This brooch features a black painted circular outer border with embossed silver washed Gothic script, "Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Helferin", (German Red Cross Helper) on outer rim. A white painted circular inner field with a central red cross. On the reverse marked "Ges. Gesch" with a manufacturers initials, "F.& R, ST. 3". Please note slight enamel damage at top left due to brooch being scuffed at sometime in its life otherwise perfect.
