Awarded to Air Mechanic 3rd Class James Staley Court of the Royal Air Force, formerly Royal Flying Corps. Victory Medal (141232. 3.A.M. J. S. COURT. R.A.F.) Enlisted on the 22nd February 1918 in the Royal Flying Corps, later transferred to the Royal Air Force on the 1st April 1918. Before joining RFC James Stanley Court his civilian occupation was recorded in his service record as ‘Process Clerk & Engraver. On enlisting he did his basic training before going to French Theatre of Operations on the 18th July 1918 as part of the British Expeditionary Force (BEF). Later transferred to 5 Squadron on the 28th February 1919. Serving in France until returning back to UK on 13th December 1919. (with copy service record & overview)
