Awarded to 3rd Air Mechanic William Benjamin Heigho served with both Royal Air Force and Royal Naval Air Service. Victory Medal (250795. 3.A.M. W.B. HEIGHO. R.A.F.) William Benjamin Heigho was born 10th October 1900 in town of Stroud in County of Gloucestershire. At time of enlistment his service record advises his civilian occupation is recorded as Salesman. Joined the Royal Air Force on the 23rd February 1918 with the trade of Boy Mechanic (W.T.) and was stationed at RAF Cranwell. This was followed by a further number of postings of which his last post is at RAF Crystal Palace serving until 7th November 1919.Records show that 3rd Air Mechanic William Benjamin Heigho served at RAF Crystal Palace later transferring to Royal Naval Air Service.The Victory Medal is note on service record as being 3rd AM William B Heigho’s only medal entitlement.
