Awarded to Chief Stocker Ernest Bowsher serving with His Majesties Royal Navy. 1914-15 Star (K12736 E. BOWSHER. STO.1. R.N.), British War Medal & Victory Medal (K12736 E. BOWSHER. ACT.STO. R.N.) and Royal Naval Long Service & Good Conduct (GeoV) Coinage Head (12736 E. BOWSHER. CH.STO. HMS REVENGE). He was born 18th February 1893 in Eastbourne in Sussex. At the time of his enlistment his civilian occupation is recorded as ‘Labourer’. He joined the navy on the 9th September 1911, serving for 12 years. Enrolled and trained at Victory II naval facility, followed by service at a number of naval vessels and shore bases. He saw service throughout World War One and later serving on HMS Revenge. He received his Royal Naval Long Service & Good Conduct whilst serving with the rank of Chief Stoker. HMS Revenge was a lead ship of the Revenge Class Battleship of 29,970 tons with 4x twin 15 inch guns as main armament. (with copy service record and medal rolls).
